How To Apply Quality Eyelashes

By Brenda Rogers

When your lashes are long they look glamorous and heavy. You can give your lashes a full look by using medium length quality eyelashes that are a little longer than your natural lash. There are some tips that can help make applying false lashes simple and less time consuming. It is important to make sure you have everything you need before you begin.

Get everything together that you are going to use. Select a brand of black mascara that you like. Black is better to use than brown or brown black. You will also need a lash curler and black eyeliner. Some lashes come with a small tweezers but if yours does not, use an old one or buy a cheap one because it will get glue on it. Next buy a top brand of lashes. You will also nee glue. If you are allergic to latex buy glue that is free from latex.

Transparent, rather than black, is the recommended adhesive for lashes. It is important to make sure that the brand of glue you use is a good one. It is best to use an old tweezers since they get glue stuck to them. You will use them to pick up and hold the lash during application. Some packages include tweezers so you do not have to get your own.

Before you apply your new lashes put your eyeliner and shadow on. You will not put mascara on or curl until after the lashes are on. If you prefer, you do not have to apply eye shadow. However, you do need to apply liner. The eyeliner covers the small gap that will be create between the false lash line and the natural lash line.

Before you apple the lashes you will measure and trim them. Place the false lash along your own lash. Choose the length and mark with your finger. Using scissors, trim the false lash at the mark. This is an eyeballing kind of thing so make certain you do not trim too much off.

Put a line of glue on your non dominant hand. This will make it easy for you to dip rather than pipe the glue right on the lash. Dipping the lash keeps you from getting too much glue. Use your tweezers to hold the lash and dip it in the glue. Tweezers give more control than using your fingers. Wait for the glue to become tacky and then close your eye and place the lash on your eyelid.

Push the edges of the lash down using the tweezers. Hold this step to make sure the lashes stick. Open and close your eyes during this process to ensure your eyes are not glued shut. Press on the lash with your finger to make certain that it adheres to your eyelid.

When both lashes have been applied and the glue is completely dry you can apply mascara. The glue will be clear when it is fully dried. When you apply mascara do it slowly working from the base of your lash. You may want to redo the eyeliner at this time.
